SOCIAL & ACTIVITIES

With a fairly extensive social calendar we're involved in numerous activities throughout the year which include intramural sports, sorority exchanges, football game tailgates, and a variety of trips, volunteering, brotherhood events, banquets, and philanthropies.

There are far too many activities to mention here, so we’ve just included some of the highlights of each semester that are typically traditions of ours. Our large membership facilitates participation in most all opportunities available.

LSU Football

For the seven home games each fall, either on our property or with other fraternities and sororities we participate in campus Greek tailgating activities.  Homecoming features a special open house for alumni and parents to enjoy.  For many of the away games, we will have a group of members make the journey.

TX Hex

This is our grand on-property Halloween event which always features elaborate decorations and excellent music. Recent artists have included Cherub, Louis the Child, and DJ Esco. The new Associate Member class decides the theme and takes a big role in the project.

Intramurals

We participate in most of the intramural sports and usually field competitive teams.

Brotherhood Trips

In addition to local excursions, the best part of our brotherhood is that you make friends from all over the country. This gives our members great opportunities to travel and explore new states and places with the benefit of having the best tour guide! In addition, our members are constantly planning trips throughout the year, including international destinations, so there is always opportunity to join in.

Formals

Each semester, the guys enjoy a Fall semi-formal, and a traditional Spring formal. Throughout the year you will find we pair with other sororities and fraternities for other events as well.

Shipwrecked

Our Spring South Seas extravaganza has been a tradition for almost 50 years and still provides a Caribbean theme for all members to enjoy.

Parents & Alumni

Whether it’s our annual Fall parents and alumni weekend or Spring cocktail party, we always make an effort to include our members and their families.  These planned events are great ways to come visit your son on campus, learn more about his Theta Xi experience, and have a great time!

Volunteering & Community

Theta Xi takes a very active role in being a helping hand in the Baton Rouge community. We orgainze an annual blood drive and participate in the IFC sponsored Habitat for Humanity. On a national level, we support and contribute to Multiple Sclerosis. You will always be able to find opportunities to volunteer with fellow brothers throughout the year.
